The Restoring Process

Protection of important information is critical for every organization. The protection is against viruses, sudden power failures, natural disasters or against somebody illegally trying to access official or personal data.

Restore data protection services

Restore Data Protection services are a perfect solution to overcome these situations of failure, corruption or theft. A data protection measure stores critical data from the file server systems either electronically or on a magnetic tape. Restoring on the other hand means storing back the critical data from tape to the original file server system of the organization.

Normally, data is restored back to the file server system according to the features provided in Data Protection Manager administrator console or the end users. This could also be done using a tape archive also.

In the process of restoring, various backup programs append the original path of the file at a specific location. Data Protection Manager supported back up software restores files to a specified designation without appending the original path. Only that data which is discovered by an automatic system is restored back to the file server system. This automatic system constantly keeps hold of the most recent status of critical data and accordingly decides which data is to be restored and which should not to be stored.

Restore data protection process

The restore data protection process varies from one backup process to another. For example, in case of a safe backup process, file restoring is as easy as clicking on the Restore Now Tab, just after selecting the files you want to restore. Similarly, you can restore the entire disk drive.

Restoring different versions of the files is also possible. This is quite a useful feature. For example, suppose you created a presentation and made considerable changes to it. Suppose at the end of the day, you want to finalize that copy of the presentation which we created for the very first time. As the restoring feature helps to attain every version of the file, it will not be manually required to make these changes all over again.

Restoring features is also available in the Outlook Express of the computer system. This is a kind of restoring process that you can do on your own. But most of us do not know about this feature. The lost data of our outlook can thus be restored from the address book, mail account file or new account file of our Outlook Express.

In case of address book, here is what you can do:

• From the file menu, click import and select Other Address Book.
• Select text files and choose import.
• Choose the Browse and the now browse to the Mail Back Up folder.
• Click next and Finish.
• At last, click OK and then choose close.

Restoring is as important as protecting the data against various data loss threats. It requires a step-by-step procedure in order to restore the critical data back to its original destination.
